150th Anniversary Celebration — Holy Cross Ministries of Utah will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the Holy Cross sisters in Utah during the Fiesta 150 on Saturday, Oct. 4, 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the University of Utah Alumni House, 155 S. St. Carlo Acutis Youth Rally — Saturday, Oct. 4 at St. Joseph CHS’ Black Box Theater, 1790 Lake St., Ogden. Registration 7:30 a.m., programs 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. For youth ages 13-18. No cost; lunch will be provided. A consent to participate form must be filled out (available on the diocesan website under Safe Environment) and emailed to michael.edwards@dioslc.org or brought the day of the event.

Dinner Dance — Saturday, Oct. 4 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem. Doors open at 6 p.m. Cost for dinner: $15 for one adult, $8 per child under age 17, $50 for family of five, $55 for any group of five adults. The dance, which will include children’s activities, will begin after dinner and is free admission. Sponsored by the Women of St. Francis for the Feast of St. Francis.

Filipino Mass — Sunday, Oct. 5, 3:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1065 East 700 South, SLC. Celebrant is Rev. Carlos R. Guzman, RCJ; hosted by the Misang Bayan Filipino community. All are welcome.

Year of Hope Special Pilgrimage — Wednesday-Thursday, Oct. 8-9 at the Carmel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, 5714 E. Holladay Blvd., Holladay, in celebration of the Jubilee of Consecrated Life. Mass on both days will be at 6:30 p.m. with Confession available 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

St. Vincent de Paul Concert — Friday, Oct. 10, 7 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 Spring Lane, Holladay. The Joel Rosenberg Trio will perform works by Dohnanyi, Mozart, Beethoven and Bach, including the famous Goldberg Variations. Eccles Organ Festival Concert — Sunday, Oct. 12, 8 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Recital by Nathaniel Gumbs, director of music at The Riverside Church, New York City, featuring works by Mendelssohn, Franck and Haywood. Free; all are welcome. The performance will be live streamed on the festival’s YouTube channel.

Catholic Woman’s League Fall Luncheon — and fashion show will be Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Sheraton Hotel, 150 West 500 South, SLC celebrating the beneficiaries Saint Andrew Women’s Society and the Children’s Center of Utah. September is Hunger Action Month — Catholic Community Services’ Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank in Ogden has a goal of collecting 50,000 pounds of food to help those in need. Donations can be made through Sept. 30 at 2504 F Ave. in Ogden on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Evening Prayer — Wednesdays, 4:30 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 E. Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights, with the St. Catherine of Siena Lay Dominican Chapter. All are welcome.

Liturgy of the Hours — first and third Fridays of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph’s Villa chapel, 415 E. Bishop Federal Lane, SLC. With the Secular Discalced Carmelites. All are welcome.

Shoe Donations Needed — Catholic Community Services of Utah’s Weigand Resource Center is in need of men’s sneakers and boots for clients experiencing homelessness. Donations can be dropped off at 437 West 200 South, SLC weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other high-priority needs include toothpaste, shampoo and bar soap.

Abba Women’s Prayer Group — meets every Monday except holidays at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph room at St. Lawrence Mission, 5 South 100 West, Heber. Call Olga Hibl, 209-480-8972, for information.

Patriotic Rosary — Members of St. George Catholic Parish pray a patriotic rosary twice a month using booklets purchased from Caritas of Birmingham. St. George invites all parishes in the Diocese of Salt Lake City to pray the patriotic rosary.
